Mets finish up the opening homestand against divisional opponents with a 2-4 record, as they dropped the rubber match versus the Nationals today 5-2. Josh Willingham drove in all five runs vs Johan, including a grand slam in the first inning.
Livan Hernandez shut down this meager offense.
Unacceptable.
Mets have a much needed day off tomorrow, and open up a road trip in Colorado on Tuesday.

A disappointing start for sure. It is only a matter of time before the faithful turn against this team (or at least moreso than now). Going to Colorado is never easy nor is St. Louis, but if they are going to be good, the need to go 4-2 or at least 3-3 on the trip.
ReplyDeleteI am not worried about Johan. He is fine and will be fine. The first week though does remind me of exactly what we have seen for the past few years and that is a concern.
