- Mike Pelfrey extended his scoreless innings streak to 19 innings.
- He threw 7 innings, 3 hits, 3 walks, 6 k's.
- His splitter was very effective tonight and has been the key to his success
- Welcome back Jose Reyes
- He had 4 hits, and really set the tone with his 2-run Triple.
- Also stole a base in the 8th inning
- Fernando Tatis hit a 2-run pinch hit HR in the 8th to secure the game
- D Wright heard some boo-birds after going 0-4
- Jeff Francoeur was also hitless (extends his streak to 0-18)
- Ike Davis was 0-3 with a walk and two strike outs
- R Igarashi injured his hamstring on a bunt play in the 8th inning, and was relieved by Fernando Nieve
- Nieve worked in his 10th game tonight (out of 14)
- F Rodriguez walked two batters in the 9th, but escaped unscathed
- Defensive play of the game was a pick off by Henry Blanco, throwing behind the runner on 2nd to end the 5th inning
Overall another very crisp game. The Cubs right now look like the Mets did a few days ago; life-less. Mets try to win three games in a row tomorrow night, with a match-up of bloated contracts, Oliver Perez versus Carlos Silva. Even with this poor start to the season, the Mets are only 2.5 games out of 1st place.
