- Big Pelf: 14 outs, 12 hits, 4 runs allowed. He had no command of his split, leaving it up in the zone, and seemed out of sync all night.
- Dessens got a big out to get out of the 5th inning and got the win for the five pitches he threw.
- K-Rod got the four-out save, escaping a jam in the 8th inning stranding two inherited runners from Parnell (one intentional walk), but created his own mess in the 9th (courtesy of a bloop single).
- D Wright hit two doubles (just missing a home run), had two RBIs (63 for the year) and his average is now .311
- R Barajas went 0-4, ending the month of June hitting .188 and one RBI. He left five guys on base tonight.
- Anyone still want to extend his contract/think he deserves to be an All-Star?
- Don't make decisions based on small sample sizes, especially on a veteran who is not improving.
- J Thole with a big pinch-hit for the second night in a row, and it turned out to be the game-winner.

Mets Salvage the Series Finale
The Mets avoid losing seven straight road games to the Marlins, as they win 6-5. Both starting pitchers were ineffective (Mets scored three runs before Volstad got an out), but Pelfrey was equally bad and was unable to complete five innings. One very interesting stat I looked up tonight in regards to this series: the Mets hitters struck out 26 times, and only walked two times in total for the three games (J Bay with both yesterday).
