The 20 year old was dominating yesterday according to all reports, striking out 4 in 2 1/3, and throwing 19 pitches, 17 for strikes. After watching the video below, some of those swings were over the ball by a good 6-12 inches. Scary good.

If he continues like this, the Mets are going to be very tempted to put him the bullpen this year, which I would avoid; it would limit his development into a potential #1 starter. IF the Mets are contending in August/September, and Mejia is still dominating, then I would call for Mejia to come in and pitch out of the bullpen during the stretch run, but not start the year out in New York.
Hopefully he continues to build on this control, because that has been a problem in the Arizona Fall League, as well as earlier in camp.
