And the Mets win! Winning streak reaches 5

The Mets are now 8 games over .500, as they benefited from a couple Indians miscues (3 errors) and survived a shaky outing from both Johan and Frankie to hold on to a 7-6 win. The offense "broke out" with 12 hits, but 7 of them were infield hits.

  • I Davis hit a 2-run HR to straight away CF
  • D Wright went 3-5 (2 infield hits) with 3 RBIs and now leads the league in RBIs.
  • J Reyes scored from 2nd on a ground-ball to shortstop. That is a true "Reyes Run"
  • Johan: 7 innings, 7 hits, 4 runs, 2 walks, and again, only 1 strikeout
    • The lack of strike-outs is very concerning.
  • Masterson recorded 14 outs on the ground and stayed true to his scouting report.
J Niese looks to build on his last stellar outing as he faces Mitch Talbot tomorrow night, 7:10 start.
