Scary Mets stats re the outrageous bullpen use and a Chris Carter update

From ESPN's blog, TMI:

Fernando Nieve pitched two scoreless innings of relief for the Mets last night, despite also pitching the day before. That’s nothing new for the Mets bullpen though. Mets relieves have thrown 26 innings already this year on zero days rest – the most in the majors.

Nieve is on pace to appear in 99 games; and yes, this is the first time he's ever pitched out of the bullpen. The Mets are averaging 3 2/3 innings from the bullpen each game, the most in the majors (yes I realize that the 20 inning game has a big role in that).

Also want to note that Chris Carter is continuing to mash like he was in Spring Training, and his stats are insane at AAA. Yesterday he was 3-4 and is now hitting .348/.408/.607. Why isn't he on the big league club?

  1. Why wouldn't you want a bench of Catala-sucko, cora, Bring Peace to the Middle East Tatis, Blanco & Sarge Jr?

How dare you question the make up of the roster!
