Also wanted to touch on the report on Baseball Prospectus that this Beltran situation may have been the last straw on Omar's tenure and that the Mets are one losing streak away from Omar being fired.
And when I was asked if I was happy with the report, and I responded "well I won't lose any sleep on it." But no, I don't want Omar to be fired in the middle of the year. If you are going to fire him, fire him now. The general manager does not have an impact on a in-season losing streak. If you've lost confidence in him, fire him now, don't wait.
